This past year, a project team of six faculty members representing five academic disciplines collaborated with Vassar students on a study of the Casperkill, in the College’s own backyard. A group led by professors Marshall Pregnall (biology) and Kirsten Menking (earth science) could be found slogging through wetlands, measuring flow rates, and taking water and sediment samples as they assessed the precarious health of a stream in an urban environment.

Not your typical day in the classroom – but then again, at Vassar, it is.

Your donation to the Annual Fund helps the College recruit and retain outstanding faculty, like those in the Casperkill project, whose imaginative teaching so enriches the educational experience of our students. Please give today to Vassar’s Annual Fund.
